Various Taminco molecules find their application in the Water Treatment area, both in the industrial and municipal sectors worldwide.
Our Amietol M21 (DMAE) is a key building block for the production of flocculants. Flocculants, or flocculating agents, are chemicals that cause impurities in liquids to aggregate, forming a floc. Flocculants are used in water treatment processes to improve the sedimentation or filterability of small particles. In this way Flocculants are widely used for the purification of municipal water as well for industrial water treatment. DMAE is produced through the reaction between DMA and EO. Apart from its main application in the water treatment area, Amietol M21 is also used for multiple applications such as ion exchange resins, polyurethanes, epoxy and acrylic resins, textiles, leather, paints, coatings, inks, surfactants, detergents, drugs and pharmaceuticals.
Also DMAPA (Dimethylaminopropylamine) can be used as an intermediate for the production of flocculants. Dimethylamine (DMA) is used as a precursor in the water treatment application, in specific for the production of coagulants.
In a continued effort to develop new building blocks for the flocculent market Taminco has introduced a new unique monomeric product, Dipole, containing two positively charged functional groups. This new high quality product allows our customers to make new chemical structures for a diversity of applications mainly in water treatment but also cosmetics and ion exchangers.
