| Taminco acquires Air Products' European Methylamines & Derivatives business |

Thursday, 22 April 2004 - Press Release Gent, Belgium, 22 April 2004. Taminco informs that it has signed an agreement with Air Products to acquire its European Methylamines & Derivatives business for an undisclosed fee. The agreement is subject to regulatory approvals. This investment by Taminco (the former UCB Methylamines & Derivatives business) reinforces its long term commitment to this market place. Taminco will continue to invest to maintain a long term successful business in order to support its customers and other stakeholders. Taminco will continue to strive for the highest possible standards in health, safety and care of the environment, as well as in production, and all aspects of customer care. Until this deal is completed the respective businesses of Taminco and Air Products will continue to operate entirely independently.
