Gent, Belgium - 1st May 2007 - Taminco has reached an agreement with Arkema Inc to acquire its American Alkylalkanolamines, Specialty AAA, Deha and Higher Amines business with a turnover of approximately 60 Mio US$ in fiscal year 2006 and its plant in Riverview (Detroit, US) with approximately 88 employees.

"Acquiring the amines activities of Arkema Inc is a first step in building out a selective derivative position in the United States and follows our strategy of being the dedicated supplier of Amines and Derivatives" said Taminco's CEO, Pol Vanderhaeghen.
