Soil disinfection

Soil disinfection is a residue-free technique whereby weed seeds, diseases and nematodes are eradicated prior to planting. This allows growers to start with a clean field, protecting the crops from the very early stage.

Taminco’s range of soil fumigation products includes Metam Sodium and Metam Potassium.

• Applications

The Metam products are used prior to planting or sowing in order to clean soil of fungal diseases, bacteria, weed seeds and nematodes, primarily in connection with growing high-value fruit and vegetable crops such as carrots, tomatoes, lettuces, melons, potatoes and cucumbers.
