Soil disinfection

Soil disinfection is a residue-free technique whereby weed seeds, diseases and nematodes are eradicated prior to planting. This allows growers to start with a clean field, protecting the crops from the very early stage.

Taminco’s range of soil fumigation products includes Metam Sodium and Metam Potassium.

  • Applications


The Metam products are used prior to planting or sowing in order to clean soil of fungal diseases, bacteria, weed seeds and nematodes, primarily in connection with growing high-value fruit and vegetable crops such as carrots, tomatoes, lettuces, melons, potatoes and cucumbers.

Taminco also stimulates advanced application techniques through partnerships with main machinery constructors, greenhouse specialists and professional applicators.
