The Pharma precursor business segment holds a number of typically smaller-sized products with very specific applications. They mainly belong to Taminco's portfolio because of a technology or raw material fit with some of the other products produced. 2-Pyrrolidone is produced from the reaction between ammonia and gamma-butyrolactone. Taminco's 2-Pyrrolidone is a high-quality grade, primarily used in the production of pharmaceuticals. N-Ethylpyrrolidone (NEP), derived from the reaction between Monoethylamine and gamma-butyrolactone, is also used as a pharmaceutical building block. Aside from the pharmaceutical application, the material is applied as a solvent in low-temperature applications. AN-PMI is a blend between Acrylonitrile and Phenylmaleimide, used in the formulation of ABS rubbers to enhance the heat stability. Benzyldimethylamine (BDMA) is a DMA derivative mainly used as a catalyst for Polyurethane foams. The product is also used as a precursor for agrochemical and pharmaceutical synthesis. DMAPA Triazine is a DMAPA Derivative also used in Polyurethane catalyst applications. DMA-HCl and TMA-HCl are amine salts, used primarily in the pharmaceutical and paper industry, respectively.
