| Taminco reinforces its commitment to the rubber industry |
|
Tuesday, 24 November 2009 - press release Taminco N.V. today announced that, following the decision of Solutia Inc. to cease manufacture of Tetramethylthiuram disulphide (TMTD) and Tetraethylthiuram disulphide (TETD) at Cologne, Germany, Taminco will take over the contracts and commercial obligations of this business with effect from Tuesday 24 November 2009.
These products are used almost exclusively in the Rubber industry. Taminco is already producing TMTD, mostly for supply to the Crop Protection market and as part of the transaction, after a short transitional period, Taminco intends to transfer production of both products to its plant at Ghent in Belgium. This agreement is a further demonstration of Taminco's commitment to its core business in Amines and Derivatives, as both TMTD and TETD are downstream derivatives of the Amines produced by Taminco. |
